Tips for complete beginners
What to do when you arrive.
Please arrive about 10 minutes early for your first lesson. Speak to one of our instructors who will give you a registration form to complete. If you have questions, this will be the time to ask.
Bring a friend.
Most people feel more confident if they come with people they know and friends help keep you motivated. We provide free trial sessions for all, please just let us know how many of you are coming.
What to wear.
On your first visit wear loose, comfortable clothing such as jogging bottoms and t-shirt. Flat soled sports shoes are good but bare feet are OK. We supply uniforms and training shoes but you do not have to buy them when you arrive for a free trial session.
Refreshments.
Feel free to bring drinks.
Safety
We are really very friendly and will not involve you in anything dangerous as a beginner. We do not allow sparring for the first few lessons and then develop slowly.
Money
You do not have to bring money to your free trial lesson although if you want to join straight away you will need a cheque book or some cash.
